Civil Department

  • Ready Mix Concrete India Pvt Ltd – Industrial Visit for 2nd year student of civil engineering on 29/12/2015 at RMC (READY MIX CONCRETE) India Pvt Ltd. A total of 26 Students with two staff members attended the industrial visit. Mr.Rajendran, STO who in charge of conducting the Demos and seminars.
  • Kilpauk metro water plant – An industrial visit has been arranged on 7th January 2016 at Kilpauk metro water plant for final year student of department of Civil Engineering. A total of 43 students along with three staff members were accompanied to treatment plant.
  • Hindustan University – Student with 3 Faculty Members (Mrs.Radhika, Mr.Vijaysarathi, Mr.Surrendar) went on an Industrial Visit to Hindustan University, Padur on 13-Jan-2016. The students of Civil Engineering, learned about safety precautions, RCC framed structure, Shuttering work, Bar bending work, and Concrete work.

Automobile Department

  • Hindustan COCO-COLA Ltd – 2nd year students of Automobile Engineering visited “Hindustan COCO-COLA Ltd, Nehamam” on 23rd Jan 2016 and 27 Jan 2016 along with their faculties.
  • Arrow Coach Builders – Final year students of Automobile Engineering visited’Arrow Coach Builders’ Madhuranthagam on 9th jan 2016 along with their faculties.

Mechanical Department

  • Hindustan Coco-Cola Beverage Pvt Ltd – 2nd year Mechanical Engineering students visited Coco-Cola Pvt Ltd, Nemam, Chennai on 21st January 2016. They were accompanied by two faculties Mr.Dinesh – lecturer, Mr.Yuvaraj.M – lecturer of Mechanical engineering
  • Delphi TVS – Final year students of mechanical engineering visited Delphi TVS Sriperumbadur, Chennai on 9th January 2016. They were accompanied by three faculties Mr.Dinesh.S – lecturer, Mr. Yuvaraj.M – lecturer, Mr.Srinivasan.R lecturer of Mechanical department
  • Thermal Power Station Ennore – Final year students of mechanical engineering visited Thermal power station Ennore, Chennai on 26 august 2015 and 27 august 2015 along with their dept faculties Mr.Vinoth Kumar.S.V, lecturer, Mr.Srinivasan lecturer, Mr.Kathiravan.S and Mr.Shankar Kannan.P
  • Integral Coach Factory – Final year student of mechanical engineering visited Integral Coach Factory, Chennai on 8th jan 2016
  • Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) – Final year student of mechanical engineering visited Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) at Salem on 23rd January and 6th February 2016 along with their staff members Mr.Vinothkumar S.V, Mr P.Sivaramakrishanan Mr.sajith S.J, Mr.Shanker Kannan.P and Mr.Jayaprakash, Instructor.

Department of Electrical and Electronics

  • Excel Automation Company – EEE IIIrd and IInd year students have gone for an IV on 28.12.2015 to EXCEL AUTOMATION COMPANY, at Chrompet, Chennai.
  • BSNL TRAINING CENTRE – EEE, ECE and DCE departments IIIrd and IInd year have undergone for a visit and one day training on 16.02.2016 to BSNL TRAINING CENTRE at East Tambaram.
  • Hindustan Coco-Cola Beverage Pvt Ltd – EEE and ECE departments have undergone for an IV on 28.01.2016 to COCA COLA COMPANY.
  • Delphi TVS – EEE IIIrd students have gone for an IV on 08.01.2016 to Delphi TVS, Sriperumpudur.

Department of Computer Engineering

  • BSNL Telecom – It was held on 20.07.2015 in BSNL Telecom. They conducted a practical session on switches, bandwidth and batteries

Industrial visits are arranged for all the 2nd & 3rd year students to enable them to visualize and understand the practical applications of engineering principles. This will also give them the idea of the type of environment where they are going to work in future. The following are some of the industrial visits arranged for the HIET Polytechnic students.

  • Integral coach factory, Chennai.
    The students of Diploma Mechanical Engineering visited the plant. The students were taken around the factory by the company officials and explained about the various machines, and manufacturing processes.
  • M/s KCP Limited, Thiruvotiyur, Chennai.
    M/s KCP Ltd. is involved in the manufacture of heavy castings. The DME & DAE students could get 1st hand knowledge of casting process, furnaces and various finishing methods used in the company.
  • M/s Addison & co Ltd.
    M/s Addison & co Ltd. is the pioneers in the cutting tool manufacturing which is an important area for Mechanical Engineering students.
  • M/s Diamond Engineering (Chennai) Pvt. Ltd.
    M/s Diamond Engineering Chennai is a heavy fabrication industry. Students during their visit saw the various stages of fabrication like cutting and bending of thick plates, welding and conducting quality testing on welded joints. DME & DAE students visited the company.
  • M/s Bi Metal Bearing Ltd. (TAFE Group)
    DME 3rd year students visited M/s Bi Metal Bearings. They visited various shops and saw the various stages of the manufacture of bush bearings.
  • M/s CRP India Pvt. (Ltd)
    M/s CRP India Pvt. (Ltd) is a company involved in the manufacturing of automobile components using pressure die casting techniques. They are also manufacturing the dies required for the casting process. Students were able to visit all the areas like mould design, machining die casting process, finishing etc. DME and DAE students visited the company.
